TATA International won the ‘Sahara City Homes Corporate Cup 09’
Indore, June 14, 2009: TATA International won ‘Sahara City Homes Corporate Cup 09’ trophy in a breathtaking Final of the Sahara City Homes 20-20 cricket tournament. TATA International defeated Impetus Infotech by 31 runs and Man –of-the Match Mr. Chirag Solanki of TATA International scored 19 runs in just 06 balls and took 3 wickets for 06 runs in 3 overs. The match was played at the cricket ground of Sahara City Homes, Indore which is a part of the Central Park and is among one of the special amenities and value additions of Sahara City Homes Townships.
With the brilliant display of batting and bowling TATA International, State Bank of Indore, Impetus Infotech and Bajaj Allianz booked their places in the semi-finals of the tournament. In the first semi-final match, TATA International defeated State Bank of Indore by 84 runs and Mr. Pradeep Gurjar from TATA International was declared Man-of-the Match for scoring unbeaten 58 runs. In the second semi-final match, with their exuberant performance Impetus Infotech defeated Bajaj Allianz by 6 wickets. Man-of-the Match, Mr. Sonu Gambhir took 4 wickets for 23 runs in 4 overs.
The winning team of TATA International was honored with the Winner Trophy. Each player of the winning team honored with the DVD player and each player of the runner-up team was awarded with a clothing iron. The ‘Man of the Series’ was awarded with a Colour TV and all the Man-of-the Match players received a sandwich toaster each. After their thrilling performance in the tournament, ‘Best Bowler’ and ‘Best Batsman’ walked away with Microwave Oven.
‘Sahara City Homes Corporate Cup 09’- a 20-20 cricket tournament has entertained the cricket lovers with the enthralling performances of the players in league matches of the tournament. The executives working in different Corporate of Indore participated in the Corporate Cup with zeal and unleashed their hidden cricketing talent with every match.
Sixteen teams from the leading corporate and media houses participated in this amateur Cricket tournament. This included TATA International, Zeppelin India, Bajaj Allianz, Nai Dunia, Axis Bank, Bombay Hospital, Idea and Webdunia in Pool A andInfo Beans, Computer Science Corporation, Eicher, ICICI Lombard, Madhya Pradesh Computer & Telecom Association, Impetus, State Bank of India and State Bank of Indore in Pool B.
The opening match was played between TATA International and Zeppelin India, at the Sahara City Homes Cricket Ground, Indore. The cricket ground is of national standard and is a part of the central park complex at Sahara City Homes Indore Township. The central park complex will include a large multi – disciplinary sports playground, tennis court, volleyball court, swimming pool, skating ring, wave pool, and kids play area. T he central park complex will be equipped with flood lights to provide an option of day and night usage for the residents of Sahara City Homes.
