Sahara Care House to Jointly Present Chandigarh Carnival 2008 with Chandigarh Tourism Board

Chandigarh , November 21st, 2008 : Sahara Care House, which provides more than 60 Support & Care Services to its members in India and to the families of its NRI members, will jointly present Chandigarh Carnival, a fun-filled annual two day mega event, beginning November 22 nd 2008. The event is thronged by hundreds of Chandigarh citizens every year and the numbers are expected to be even larger this year. A procession of colorful floats and tableaux trolleys will move leisurely to the beat of music and drums through the city in celebration of this event. The theme this year is “Fun & Games”.

Chandigarh Carnival 2008 is being organized under the auspices of Mr. Samarthak Singh, Director, Chandigarh Tourism Board and Home Secretary, Chandigarh Administration, Mr. Ram Niwas. This annual event has been organized in Chandigarh for the last 17 years and has attracted crowds from the city and neighbouring areas.

Sahara Care House is being represented by Mr. Romi Datta, CEO, Sahara Care House and Mr. Devesh Siwal, COO. Delegates from thestates of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh will also attend the carnival inauguration and festivities. Representatives from various prestigious educational institutions and Social and Cultural organisations of the city of Chandigarh will also be present. China Tourism Board will also participate in this event.

To make this special occasion particularly meaningful Sahara Care House will bring in celebrity Diana Hayden to announce the winning name for the hitherto unnamed mascot of Chandigarh Carnival. The Mascot name is being selected through an interactive SMS process, the names in the fray are Lucky, Ballu and Prince.

 Making the announcement, Diana Hayden, an active representative of Sahara India Pariwar’s numerous activities, said, “It is always a pleasure to be in this wonderful city, it gives me added pleasure today to participate in the christening of Chandigarh Carnival’s charming little mascot that has won our hearts over the years.”

The special celebratory event will comprise of an array of exciting events including two Musical Nites, performers such as Bollywood star Shreya Ghoshal, and internationally acclaimedband, Stereo Nation will perform before the audience. Another performance that is expected to captivate the audience is a laughter show that will be presented by Khayali Saharan. Fun and Games activities include an amusement park for children, food courts and various cultural events.
